It’s Like Having Your Own Personal Concert…..On Your Ears!, January 28, 2016

Expect to recieve a beautiful blue/white wireless headset, with a very informative and easy top read instruction guide, a mini usb charging cable, and a auxilary cord (just in case you would like to manually connect).

At first sight, the design is very attractive. I immediatley noticed how fluffy the cusion is on the ears and the inner band of this headset. I also liked how the power button and volume buttons are conveinently placed along the back outer edge of the left ear for easy axcess. Although this headset is very useful for those that dislike hassling with cords, and being restricted…I love that there is still an option to add an auxilary cord (included) in case you need/want to utilize it.

Connecting this via bluetooth to my phone and tablet was a complete breeze! It took all of 2 minutes and I was back to dancing around the house WIRE FREE! The bluetooth range is very good for such an affordable pair of headphones.

When it comes to the actual sound quality of these it was absolutley superb! the sound was extremely clear & crisp with just the right amount of bass (loved it!) Because the ears have a ton of cushion it instantly cancelled out all surrounding noise. Its literally like having your own private concert in your ears, lol. Keep in mind that this headset can also be used to make/recieve calls as well because it does have a built in mic. I have used this headset for phone calls a few times and I havent had any complaints about the other person not being able to hear me.

The charging time isnt bad at all. When completely dead it takes about 1-2 hours to charge completely ( but i was using my laptop, it may be even quicker if you attach it to a wall adapter). And after charging it can play for up to 20 hours!

Overall, I was beyond impressed with the overall presentation, design, and performance of this headset….I would reccomend this one hands down!

As An Audio Engineer And A Musician, January 31, 2016

This review is from: Mixcder Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 On-Ear Stereo Headphone Drip, Over-Ear Headset with Built-in Microphone, Long Battery Life (Electronics)

I’ve been on a headphone testing kick lately.

Either because I’m an audio recording professional or because I was voted helpful on the products that I’ve purchased, I’m asked by sellers to test and review their audio products, and almost everything else including ladies lingerie also, that I just know will make my butt look too big in.

So the seller sent me this product free to test.

Writing up these reviews is different for me from what I’ve purchased myself however, because I need to be even more thorough and consider what might be important to all ages and levels of audio knowledge, instead just My opinion on My purchase. My goal is to inform perspective buyers on the facts more than my own opinion and I won’t include 12 images of a product that you hear. I’ve been testing this product for about 2 weeks now, while making comparisons with others in this category around this price. Obviously these have no place in my recording facility, so having tested several others much like these is what helps bolster my credibility along with the fact that I make a very good living with my ears. But I’m semi retired now and I do care about consumers purchasing their products online here at amazon, so let’s get on with it.

    Overview

I opened the package and removed these bright, colorful over ear headphones and found the charging cable and a 3.5mm audio cable just short of 5 feet long along with an operating manual. My initial reaction was a feeling of cheap, however, I think that much of this was just the bright coloring vs pro equipment that will look classy instead of fun or trendy, see what I mean about having to review differently? You might absolutely Love the look of these making my reaction not only unimportant, but wrong. So factually, I noticed that the ear pads were stitched together in at least 3 places instead of it being a single piece, which is fine except that it does create the potential for the stitching to unravel someday and that was all. I no longer look at them as cheap now that I’m accustomed to using them, their construction is fine in this price range and they’re quite bendable, which will make them harder to break.

    The Wired Sound

I did this test next because this will tell me how good they really sound. It may not be the normal way that most will connect, but it gives me a baseline for audio reproduction comparisons to both others like these, and my own headsets, because I’m bypassing both the wireless and the internal amp that provides the sound and I’m using the headphone amp from what I’m connected to. I’ve got to bring up to those who don’t realize it, that the BlueTooth radio frequency used to connect will not only reduce the ability for good audio reproduction, but in different degrees decided by your player and the headphones connection that it provides with it’s transceiver.

So when connected by cable, I expect them to sound decent without EQ. When mixing tracks for your music, we use very accurate equipment that doesn’t color the sound with too much highs or lows, and then mix it in the middle of that. If we did mixing on a bass heavy system and then reduced the lows because of it, someone playing the track back through their own bright sounding system would complain that it has no bass, see what I’m saying? So while everyone can change the sound of these with their own EQ to please themselves, it should sound from okay to pretty good without any EQ for everybody who hears them.

These passed this test, but not with any colors flying, these sound closer to okay than pretty good when wired, although by nature I’m critical. In the upper bass, or the lower vocal range there is a pronounced rise in the frequency response that made me immediately want to lower the EQ sliders about -1dB at 170Hz, -4dB at 330Hz and -2dB also at 600Hz when using VLC as the player on my laptop. After listening more, I started a rise at 3k bumping it up 1 dB to 3dB at the highest frequencies and this provided a good average sound for a mixed play list of old and new, 256k to 320k and uncompressed files. But this is more adjustment than some other BlueTooth headphones like this need when wired, although these are somewhat less expensive models also at today’s $44 price then the others. For those of you who want this analysis simplified, these headphones are a bit bass heavy, but in the wrong place, they have too much bass where the bass from a small speaker’s small woofer provides bass, not where it could be a good thing like where a sub woofers bass sound is.

    The Wireless Sound

What I did next was pull the audio cable and connect BlueTooth. Although I’ve since connected these to phones, tablets, laptops and even two desktops, I’m talking about my Win 10 laptop now. It comes up with it’s name and connecting was simple for me, except that I have such a long list of BlueTooth devices…

Similar to Beats Just Minus the Price Tag, January 24, 2016

Notice: I received a free product sample in exchange for writing an unbiased review. The manufacturer has no influence on my review or score.

The popularity of Beats and similar premium priced headsets from various manufacturers have spawned a legion of similar products priced at a more easily digestible price point. The Mixdcder Drip is one such entry. I had to chuckle a bit after unboxing this headset as it’s strikingly similar to the Beats Solo 2 that my wife and I purchased for our nephew as a Christmas present.

    ►Audio Quality:
Overall I’d say the audio quality is pretty good. This headset didn’t deliver anything that blew away my expectations but did deliver a good mid-range of sounds. Bass is a bit lacking but can be somewhat made up for in a compatible music player.

    ►Build & Aesthetics:
On-the-ear headphones are not my favorite and the Mixcder is no exception. In my view on-the-ear is “just okay” My ears start feeling fatigued in this style of headphones and after about an hour listening to Spotify with this headset I was ready to stop. That said, I think the headset is padded quite well – both on the earcups and the headband.

My large head maxed out this headset, which I’m sure contributes to how on-the-ear headsets bother me. So folks with very large heads may want to keep looking.

I’m a big fan of the fit and finish on this headset. The bright blue coloring feels a bit like a soft silicone cover and it’s terrific. The styling may not be suitable for all but I appreciate the slant towards bright and noticable here and not just another black ho-hum headset.

    ► Cool Features:
I really, really like that the manufacturer has included the ability to listen via a double-male 3.5mm jack and Bluetooth! That instantly makes this headset much more flexible and able to support a range of peripherals and devices. The 3.5mm cord is pretty flimsy but it’s easy enough to replace with a better built cord.

You’re also getting a 400mah rechargeable battery with the Mixcder which is good for at least a dozen hours of music playback. Charging with the included USB cord is about 2-3hrs.

    ►In the Box:
    → Mixcder Drip headset
    → 3.5mm double-male sided auxiliary cable
    → USB charging cable
    → Instructions & setup guide
